Moving Bed Bio Reactor MBBR - Description

The MBBR Water Treatment, (MBBR Technology) are designed in England for biologically treating waste water in communities where mains drainage is unavailable, the Moving Bed Bio Reactors (MBBR) treated water can also be treated and used as grey water recycling for irrigation systems.

    Key Benefits are as follows:

    Compact and mobile,
Ideal for expanding Extended Aeration Plants,
    Meet stringent consent standards,
Low capital cost, low operational cost,
    Delivered inside standard ISO containers,
Modular MBBR`s can accommodate additional flow,
    Easy start-up,
    Handles shock loading,
    Ammonia and nutrient removal,
Easy to install, move around and expand,

A New Concept In Activated MBBR Water Treatment:

Waste water requiring treatment enters the first MBBR Reactor at low level and over flows via screened ports at high level until it passes with unattached biomass into the clarifier. It is normally beneficial to recycle a small amount of settled sludge to the feed channel, although the MBBR process can be operated without any recycle.

MBBR Water Treatment - Key Advantages

    Minimal pre-treatment – only 3mm screening required
Very little additional air is required to support the Moving Bed Bio Reactors, carrier elements,
Aeration devices can be lifted easily through the media for maintenance,
Low sludge production of high concentration/low volume for further treatment or disposal,
No screen fouling or problems with foaming in the Moving Bed Bio Reactors,
    Low concentration of unattached
